Guido Rivella Barbaresco Montestefano 2019

Guido Rivella is arguably one of the fathers of pure-class Barbaresco. He was the main winemaker for Gaja, for 44 years before retiring in 2014. Since then he has been bottling small quantities of wine with his children Enrico and Silvia at his small family estate in Montestefano, where he grew up. The wines are amazing - aromatic and with really dark fruit flavours. Sweet red berries and floral aromas on the nose. Smooth, fresh and rich with dark cherry and plum flavours and grippy tannins.
